Shaheen Pouladvar and Shahram Pouladvar Unveil a Revolutionary Guitar Design

Black Hole is not just a guitar; it's a testament to the power of design and technology. Inspired by the hard rock and heavy metal styles of bands like Motorhead, Metallica, and Slayer, the Pouladvars have created a unique instrument that is as visually striking as it is functional. The body design, based on the science of ergonomics, is a nod to the guitars of Jackson Kelly, Jackson Randy Rhodes, and Gibson Explorer.

What sets Black Hole apart from other guitars is its innovative features. The guitar boasts a liquid crystal display on the fretboard, adding a new dimension to its functionality. This display can be controlled by a controller on the guitar's body, allowing the player to change the monitor's images instantly. This feature can be used in various modes, including learning, practicing, and performing, making it a versatile tool for musicians of all levels.

The Pouladvars have also considered inclusivity in their design. The fret markers behind the guitar neck are accompanied by braille signs, making it easier for people who are blind or have low vision to find the frets. This thoughtful addition also aids professionals in playing the guitar more easily.

The creation of Black Hole was a meticulous process. The Pouladvars started with sketching on paper, then moved to digital sketching to get a basic look. They used CATIA software to ensure the design was producible and Keyshot software for rendering. The final look was achieved after several reforms and optimization attempts. A video was created with Final Cut Pro software, complete with a song composed specifically for this project.
